Marvel has given us many superheroes and loads of actions in the past – From Spiderman to Hulk. So, one thing you can expect from them is loads of action with those awesome visual effects. Their recent release “Thor” is another feather added on their hat. The god of thunder – Thor will entertain you “thor”ougly..!!
After his reckless actions reignite an ancient war, the Norse god (Chris Hemsworth) is cast out of Asgard and forced to live among humans on Earth where he meets a girl where he encounters a small scientific team of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Professor Andrews (Stellan Skarsgard) and Darcy (Kat Dennings). But Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) is soon on the scene to arrest Thor and confiscate Jane’s hard won research. The hammer of thunder which had been sent to earth with Thor is now useless, until ‘a warrior worthy of it’ takes possession of it.
The new aussie Hunk Chris Hemsworth will win the hearts of many women out there. He is believable playing the part of “The God of the Thunder”. Antony Hopkins as always overshadows everyone who shares the screen with him. Natalie Portman, as a simple scientist is at her best. After watching her in Black Swan, I have fallen for her. 😀 The younger jealous brother, Loki is at his best. However, Rene Russo doesn’t get much scope as Thor’s mother.
I wish they would have played around a little more with the 3D effects. With super action sequences, I wouldn’t have mind a Thor’s hammer’s hitting my brains (literally), I wonder why it never occurred to the director that the hammer with such magnitude of power hitting the audiences’ face would be awesome. However, the almost 2 hrs long movie manages to take you away from this realm to the one that is mythical and manages to keep you there for the entire period. I think the movie will appeal more to the youngsters and of course “women” in particular – thanks to the well built aussie hunk.
